Forget about it!!!! It's under the blood
Print ViewOne of my struggles is focusing on all my failures. I sometimes get stressed when I think of all the times I let God and others down. Then I realize I can't do anything to change it. The only thing I can do is ask forgiveness and forget about it. I'm thankful to know he's not only a God of second chances, but 3rd,4th, and so on. "While we were yet sinners Christ died for us". He new who I would be and my struggles, and He still shed his life for me. When I think on this my sadness turns to praise, the empty feeling is made full. I hope we all never get over the love of Jesus. He's always there even when we fall. This video is a funny way of reminding us to FORGET ABOUT IT!!!
I hate painting!!!
Print ViewWhat A Sunday!!!!!! GIVE GOD GLORY!!!
Print ViewThis Sunday we saw an adult man accept Christ at the altar, and little did we know his daughter was accepting Christ in Childrens Church at the same time. There were also 5 others in childrens church to accept Christ as well. 7 peoples lives are changed forever. That is soemthing to get excited about. It's happening!!! The revival (awakening) is coming. I pray that I can just stay out of the way and let God move. Invite someone this Sunday I'll be giving a preview of the series "The Gospel". We'll all look back one day and say God did it, but I had the honor of seeing it. ROD <><
We're not called to tell others!!!!!
Print ViewNow that I have your attention, some people think you must be a called Independent fundamental Bible thumping Baptist to tell others about the love of Jesus. This is not true at all. It's clear through scripture that to be a pastor or (bishop) is a calling from God. However, it's also a commandment for all believers to witness to the lost. No excuse is good enough. I'm reminded of the song "One more for Jesus", while laying on his death bed the man said to his son "I must reach one more for Jesus before I close my eyes". That illustrates a life that is fulfilling Gods purpose. What THINGS are in your way? What THINGS are to important? In what way are you using the 24 Gods given you? Poor qualty video but awesome audio!!!
God of this City (for you D.B.)
Print ViewI can't get it out of my head. The new Chris Tomlin C.D. has a song the lyrics are something like this(Greater things are yet to come, greater things are still to be done here). Thats exactly how I feel, God has given us a new youth pastor and I'm pumped. As the song says I feel like this is just the beginning. I feel that not one person including myself in our church has ever seen a revival or awakening like we're going to see. I'm typing this with chills from the excitment of those thing which are ahead. Derek I'm pumped to have you on board, I pray God will use you in a very powerful way. I feel we'll soon look back and say WHOW, ALL GLORY TO HIM!!!! This video is a must see-----CHRIS TOMLIN------ God of this city!
The VALLEY!!!
Print ViewI don't know about you but for me Sundays are great. I spend time in Worship and good fellowship, but after the Lords day sometimes it's tough. The weight of the world can and will drag you down if you let it. Sometimes I feel like when Sundays are over it's like the end of fishing season or daylight savings time or the day after Christmas. Anybody else feel this way or am I alone on this one? I look so forward to it that afterwards I'm let down. Not to mention how as soon as we leave the devil tries to discourage and tempt us with the world. As I type this on a Tuesday morning here in my office I'm reminded again of how much God has blessed. He's supplied ALL my needs and most of my wants, what more could I ask for. Yet sometimes I still feel a void. At 32 yrs old I'm now realizing the importance of morning time with God. I've almost always found time, but never set aside time. The valley is easier to get through when you start off with the WORD. ROD<><
Jesus able not or not able to sin??
Print ViewStarting with Matt 4:1 and Mark 4:13, both words are translated from the greek to mean tempted, but a better translation for Matt would be tested, and Mark would remain tempted. This is important to understand that He was tested, but also TEMPTED. One of the best arguments used for not able to sin is Jesus was born without a sin nature therefore he couldn't choose to sin. However, Adam and Eve were created without sin nature, but still chose to sin. They were also formed after His own image I might add. Think about it when he became flesh he became man just like us. One strong point is sin can't be in the presence of God, but He walked among sinners everyday. Was he God? Yes , but also man. His life would have been easy with the exception of the cross if he couldn't have sinned, just floating through like a robot waiting to die for people who struggle with sin. A struggle or temptation he never had many believe. I know what your thinking, the important thing is he didn't, but I believe He chose not to (Able not) sin. It's because of His love for us he endured and chose not to sin. He was tempted, He was man, but loved us so much that he didn't. The Word became flesh giving up all of heaven to walk with us,die for us,and defeat death for us. He was definitely not a robot. He is a glorious Saviour who chose not to sin, but to die for ours. Focus on His love during this video.
Your friends, family, loved ones are they ready???
Print ViewThis will be the last post until September. Weekend and church keep me very busy. Which makes me think if your coming to church anyway why not invite someone. I think (as I said Sunday) it's because we don't see the urgency. Oct 12th 9am we'll start the series THE GOSPEL. DO NOT COME ALONE. Maybe this video will motivate you.
